Hachie Hearts
- In 2018, the city of Waxahachie, Texas initiated the “Hachie Hearts” Art Beautification Program. This program aimed to enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal by placing heart-shaped art installations at various locations throughout the downtown area.
- The “Hachie Hearts” were an integral part of the two-year city marketing campaign titled “Waxahachie: A Place in Your Heart, Texas”. Local businesses sponsored these hearts and collaborated with local artists to create unique designs inspired by the town’s rich history for each heart.
- Area musicians recorded a song featuring each heart, complete with video and where to find them: Hachie Hearts Trail (waxahachiecvb.com)
- Initially, nine hearts were installed, but over time, the project expanded. As of April 2020, there were seventeen heart art creations spread throughout Waxahachie, each contributing to the city’s vibrant character. The total is now 21
- To explore these heart installations, visitors can follow the “Hachie Hearts Trail”, an interactive map created by the Waxahachie Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) link above. This trail guides you to all the heart locations, allowing you to appreciate the artistic diversity and community spirit behind each heart.
